Our commitment to deliver a great tool is even is stronger as we are entering a contract / customer relationship that is stronger than it already was with the public beta. You can assess the tool and influence development at this still flexible stage.
Early Access allows you to purchase U-RENDER at a strongly discounted price - including all updates during the first 12 months (see Licensing below).
U-RENDER is not quite feature complete at the start of Early Access. Notably, better animation support in Live Mode is missing.
During Early Access, existing features will be improved, better animation support will be implemented and selected new other features will be added based on customer feedback. Once the features are deemed “good” (ie. ready for extended production), U-RENDER will leave Early Access.
The Early Access product will be “U-RENDER for Cinema 4D” and will include the U-RENDER renderer as well as the Cinema 4D host plug-in.

Early Access will start at € 199 MSRP (net plus applicable taxes). As U-RENDER is improved and new features are added, the price will be increased over time in € 50 steps. The target price for U-RENDER after leaving Early Access is € 399.
After leaving Early Access, the price will continue to increase as we add features. We estimate a bi-annual price increase of € 50 each. Currently we are aiming for a € 499 - € 599 price for the single user license once U-RENDER can be deemed “great” (years 2020 to 2021).
The timeline below is a preliminary plan and might change depending on development progress and customer feedback. (Floating licenses will be available in early 2019)

U-RENDER is using date-based version numbers to allow for date-based licensing and includes a 12 maintenance period.
Version numbers have the form of YYYY.MM (year.month) plus a release number. For example 2018.10.7 (seventh release in October 2018).
Not all successive software builds are released to the public though. So there will be gaps in public release numbers.
These releases are used in internal testing and we are going to release only if the release passes our tests.
When purchasing a license in December 2018, you receive all updates during the included 12 month maintenance period for free until the end of December 2019. So all releases until version 2019.12 will work with the license purchased in December 2018. To use a version after 2019.12 (e.g. 2020.01 or later), you will need to purchase an update that includes maintenance for releases within another 12 month period, starting from the end of the previous maintenance period. You can continue to use the latest released version that is covered by your license for an unlimited time, even after the maintenance expired.
Upon purchase, you will receive an activation key that matches the type of license purchased. The date-based licensing starts with the first activation of the license (through the activation server). Activation generates a license that is then installed on the computer that has been used during activation.
Single User - Node Locked
Single User Licenses are locked to the computer that has been used during activation of the license. Licenses can be moved to another computer by de-activating the first computer and then activating the license on another computer (i.e. rehosting the license). Rehosting does not reset the license maintenance period. Maintenance starts with the first activation of the license.
Floating Licenses will not be available at the launch of Early Access. We expect to implement floating license support early 2019.
Floating licenses will require the installation of a Reprise RLM license server on your local network. More detailed information on floating licenses will follow.
